Expedition adventure racing is when a coed team of from 2 to 5 people race across the wilderness without assistance. Teams are required to navigate the entire course while trekking, orienteering, kayaking or canoeing, mountain biking, rappelling & ascending. These are skill set's that translate to a lifetime of playing in the outdoors. Either competitively or not, really doesn't matter.

For more than a decade American Adventure Sports, LLC has been the trainer to the greatest expedition adventure racers in North America. In 2008, each of the athletes that we certified completed the worlds toughest race, the grueling 550 mile Primal Quest expedition race. 3 of our athletes competed on teams which finished in the top 10.

Over the past 5 years we have trained more than 500 campers at the Junior Naturalist Outdoor Adventure Camp. Many of our campers have been with us for 3 or more years. As we have watched their skill set's evolve, we realized that the next evolution, progression would be to teach them how to adventure race safely.

Our goal is to cultivate a love for adventure sports in the outdoors, which supports a healthy life style for our Junior Adventure Racers. Students will be encouraged to stay within their own comfort zone while exploring new challenges. Ultimately, we want to improve their self confidence while helping them to be a more well rounded person. We want them to be unafraid of failure..... and to learn to take time to make good decisions.
